Det kom ett mail från Leslie…..

Ett av hennes första gotlandsruss har dött, Hilda Star 350 blev 35 år, dotterdotter till ett par av dom första importerade russen i USA! Här under finns hennes brev:

"Hilda Star was a member of my original herd, coming to KY in 1989. She was a daughter of Jack 58 and Jill 59, who were out of Swedish imports Ivan Allis, Sara Linda, Klipp Gullding and Puppi Nella. Hilda was foaled in Loco OK, and from there traveled to Missouri and Kentucky. She had been used there in harness racing, but I only knew her as a gentle, kind soul who would do anything asked of her. She put in a couple years at the KY Horse Park being an ambassador for the Gotland Pony in their Breed Pavilion, and lovingly mothered many foals here at Kokovoko: Asgarth, Damson, Eva, Freedom, Ingrid and Jorgen. I just realized that she foaled Jorgen at age 25!

In 2003, she was retired to my dear friend Franny Aprile's farm near Louisville, KY, where she was adored and pampered for her last six years until she died there Sunday, in her pasture on the hill, accompanied by Franny, at the age of 35. She was buried there and will be loved and remembered by all she touched, and through her wonderful foals and their offspring."
