Det kom ett mail från Leslie Bebensee, Kokovoko Farm, Kentycky.....

Leslie med vinnaren Kokovoko Elise

Here are a few pics from the show over the weekend. It was a huge undertaking, but overall a success. We all survived, and the kids did great. The ponies, as always, were better than stellar. They are SO wonderful.   Kokovoko Elise was top American Bred Mare, and also overall Gotland, and fifth of all American bred ponies, in a class of 15.  In American bred Gotland mares, Kokovoko Arika (Birka's daughter) was second, Erika (Arika's daughter) third, Kokovoko Felicity fourth, and Kokovoko Halley fifth.   I'll write those of you interested later with more complete results, but just wanted to share my pride in these. (and thanks to Rita Kane for getting me the photos! Her daughter Haley is shown in the photo with her pony Flame, and she is also shown holding Kokovoko Arika before her class.)   The books were awarded for Best American Bred Gotland and Most Versatile Gotland (had to be shown in hand, in a riding class, and also in either driving or jumping). I won both (Kokovoko Elise and Kokovoko Erika, respectively). Elise is shown in the photos. There was one 12 yr old girl there named Amanda Wells who has recently gotten into Gotlands and has REALLY worked hard with her pony (sundance), who now rides English and Western. She's a doll and a very nice girl. She also prepared my pony Natalie for the show. Amanda's grandmother bought several more Gotlands just a few weeks ago, so now they're in business with a stallion! Well, She showed her pony so well, and tried so hard, that I gave my second book to her, and she deserved it.   Thank you again, so very much, for the beautiful gift. I will never loan mine again. I lost my old copy of Russen pa Lojsta Hed by loaning it... :-( And it's nice that they have the English translation in this one!   I hope to return to sanity now. I showed 10 ponies in 27 classes in 2 days. oh my gosh it was impossible. But worthwhile. Got the ponies some great exposure. Oh, and last weekend I won the Indiana Combined Driving Event with Halley and Felicity, training level, and best 3 other pony pairs and one horse pair! They were terrific.

Congratulations on your successes! I have also, just like #2, thought how fun it would be if the North American Russ enthusiasts were to find their way onto this forum - maybe we could issue an invitation and create an English-speaking thread/topic here?
